Why consult dr d’agostino?
Technical skills
Dr D’Agostino is a hand surgeon, expert in upper limb anatomy, biomechanics of the wrist, thumb and treatments of these regions. Her sphere of surgical activity is exclusively dedicated to surgery of the hand, wrist, forearm and elbow. Her hyperspecialization guarantees a solid understanding and knowledge of the most recent pathologies and therapies. It promotes specific care, and allows the practice of surgical techniques offering the best results.
She was one of the first surgeons in Belgium to offer an innovative non-surgical treatment for Dupuytren's disease with Xiapex®. Joint replacement with a thumb prosthesis is one of her areas of expertise. In particular, she has developed significant expertise in the surgical recovery of patients treated in other infrastructures.
During your consultation at the Clinique de la Main, you will receive all the most up-to-date information relating to your pathology, as well as a complete and detailed informed opinion on your particular situation.
Scientific skills
Dr D'Agostino is involved in several original scientific research projects in anthropology and primatology concerning the upper limb. She notably carried out complex work using 3D reconstructions of scanners, writing codes and specialized software, allowing the analysis of pressure zones and movements of the wrist and thumb joints, both in subjects with healthy joints, with arthritis and after fitting the prosthesis. Her work has been successful and published in prestigious scientific journals, and has led to the defense of a doctoral thesis which she brilliantly obtained from the best Belgian university in the world ranking, the KU Leuven.
Her expertise regularly earn her to speak at national and international congresses of medical, surgical, biomechanics societies. She is the source of numerous authoritative publications in the field of upper limb surgery, and is a member of several European and international learned societies.
She is currently a member of the editorial board as associate editor of the scientific journal Hand Surgery and Rehabilitation, and reviewer of scientific publications for referenced specialized surgical journals.
She is a member of the research team in the development and regeneration department of the Jan Palfijn anatomy laboratory at KU Leuven in Kortrijk.
Philosophy and commitments
The vocation of Dr D’Agostino is to provide you with effective solutions and the best treatments adapted to your particular case. During each consultation, Dr D’Agostino takes the time necessary to guarantee you complete, precise and individual management of your case. Your situation is analyzed in detail, and in its entirety. She has made listening, respecting the patient and her commitments a duty of excellence.
To better receive you, the consulting rooms are equipped with the latest technologies in terms of teaching support, and equipment specific to upper limb surgery. The unique environment of the operating theaters in the heart of the Forêt de Soignes and its technical platform equipped with high-performance equipment, will provide you with an exclusive and positive experience.

From vocation to passion
Coming from an Italian family of six children, where fighting spirit, unity and sharing are the principles of life, Dr D’Agostino has made it a point of honor to carry and register these values in her professional activity.
Her vocation was born when she was a child, from admiration for a family doctor who was often present, whom she watched, amazed by this capacity to know what was wrong, and to be able to relieve and heal. She wanted to be like him. Helping and saving has become a will that has never left her.
It was after her medical studies and internships that Dr D'Agostino discovered her path, today her passion ... surgery and in particular surgery of the upper limb, the hand in which her mother is not entirely foreign from the affection that touches her hands.
Also passionate about human psychology, writing and music, she finds fulfillment of her talents in the art of healing, scientific literature and the management of specific pathologies of the musician.
